Podcast Maker Privacy Policy

Podcast Maker is an iOS app that helps podcast creators generate AI-assisted outlines, scripts, and show notes, and record their episodes.

Podcast Maker is provided by Spencer Chiang, trading as NxLayer.

Podcast Maker does not require account registration and does not collect personal information such as your name or email address.

The following fields you enter are sent to NxLayer's backend service solely to generate AI content. No personal identifiers are attached to these requests:

• Episode title, length, and tone preference
• Episode Brief fields: content focus mode, target audience description, your stance or main claim, personal material or examples, must-mention points, topics to avoid, and optional host persona
• Outline text (when generating a script or show notes)
• Whether Recent Data Search is enabled

The Episode Brief fields are entirely optional. If you include personal experiences, case studies, or other material in those fields, that text is sent to the backend and forwarded to OpenAI as part of the generation request.

All episode data — including titles, outlines, scripts, show notes, and audio recordings — is stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to any server and is not accessible to NxLayer.

Deleting the app permanently removes all locally stored episodes and recordings.

When you generate an outline, script, or show notes, the app sends the episode title, length, tone, Episode Brief fields, and outline text (where applicable) to NxLayer's backend service. This service forwards the request to OpenAI to produce the AI-generated content.

No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Audio recordings are never transmitted over the network.

AI content generation relies on OpenAI's API. Input text sent to the backend is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. NxLayer does not store or log the content of AI requests beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request.

The app requests microphone permission only when you choose to record an episode. Audio is recorded directly to your device and is never uploaded or shared.

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties. If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any details you choose to include. Support information is used only to respond to your request.

Episode data and recordings are stored only on your device. You can delete individual episodes within the app or remove all data by deleting the app. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to your request.
