StoryVoice Android Privacy Policy

StoryVoice for Android is an interactive bedtime storytelling app with story-character calls, scheduled bedtime calls, narrated playback, sentence-by-sentence text highlighting, and guided read-aloud practice.

StoryVoice is provided by Spencer Chiang, trading as NxLayer.

StoryVoice does not require account registration and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or other personal information during normal use.

The app stores your selected language, optional story-character name, bedtime schedule, story queue, and purchased story-pack status locally on your Android device.

StoryVoice requests story metadata, narration audio, and sentence timing information from NxLayer's backend service. Requests may include your selected language so the app can provide the matching story catalog.

These requests do not include account information or other personally identifiable information. Story content and audio may also be cached locally for later playback.

Read-Aloud Practice lets the story character demonstrate a sentence before the child follows along. The current Android app does not record, transcribe, or upload the child's voice and does not request microphone permission.

The app may request notification permission to present a scheduled bedtime story call. Android alarm permissions are used only to trigger the optional bedtime schedule. Notification and alarm access can be disabled in Android system settings.

Story metadata, downloaded narration audio, sentence timing files, language settings, bedtime settings, and purchase status are stored in the app's private Android storage or cache. They are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Cached content and app settings can be removed by uninstalling StoryVoice or clearing its app data from Android settings.

StoryVoice offers one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases for additional story packs. Google Play processes payment information. StoryVoice receives purchase information needed to unlock the purchased content and prevent duplicate processing. Purchases can be restored from the app's Settings screen.

StoryVoice is designed for use by young children under parental supervision. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. No account, login, personal data entry, or voice recording is required to use the app.

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties. If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any details you choose to include. Support information is used only to respond to your request.

Locally stored app data can be deleted by uninstalling StoryVoice or clearing its app data. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to your request. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us.
