Xiuxin Jingzang Privacy Policy

Xiuxin Jingzang (修心經藏) is an iPhone app for reading Buddhist scriptures, viewing explanations and related figures, practicing handwriting, tracking personal practice progress, and listening to scripture audio.

Xiuxin Jingzang is provided by Spencer Chiang, trading as NxLayer.

Xiuxin Jingzang does not require account registration and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other personal identifiers.

The app requests scripture catalogs, scripture content, explanations, figure information, images, and audio files from our backend so that the app can provide its reading and listening features. The app does not send handwriting strokes, personal notes, or practice history to our backend.

Our servers may receive ordinary technical information required to handle an HTTPS request, such as an IP address, request time, URL path, and response status. This information is used to operate and protect the service and is not used to create an advertising profile.

The app stores app data locally on your iPhone, including your selected scripture, reading and handwriting progress, personal notes, downloaded scripture content, and cached audio files. This data is used only to provide the app's features on your device.

Local app data can be removed by deleting the app from your iPhone. Cached audio may also be removed by iOS when storage space is needed.

Xiuxin Jingzang plays downloaded audio and can use Apple's built-in speech synthesis to read scripture text aloud. Audio playback does not require microphone access, does not record your voice, and does not upload voice recordings.

The app does not request access to your camera, photo library, location, contacts, microphone, or health data. Network access is used to retrieve scripture content, figure information, images, and audio.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use the app to serve third-party advertising. Xiuxin Jingzang does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs to build a user profile.

Data is shared only with the infrastructure provider that hosts the Xiuxin Jingzang content API, and only as needed to deliver the requested content and maintain service security. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the rights and safety of NxLayer or our users.

Xiuxin Jingzang does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that personal information has been provided to us, please contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or its data practices change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a new revision date.
